Our Philosophy

The Aurora Preschool is offering a play based, child centered, constructivist approach to learning. We welcome three to five year old children to join us 3-5 days a week in our full day program. The Aurora Preschool curriculum is intentionally designed to inspire wonder, promote curiosity, and expand learning and discovery. Through daily invitations and guided explorations, children will be immersed in science, nature, music, creative expressions, dramatic play and community building. A cornerstone of our program is the natural world that surrounds us at The Aurora Preschool. Exploring, discovering, and playing in nature is part of our daily routine and at the heart of our curriculum.

EDUCATION

The Aurora Preschool is an intentionally small program with a low child to teacher ratio. We welcome scheduled visits and inquiries via telephone or email.

OUR DIRECTOR

The Aurora Preschool Director, Katie McMurray, has been working as a Lead Teacher in an Early Childhood classroom for the past ten years. Prior to that she created and ran her own preschool in Monkton, Vermont. She is a licensed Vermont Educator and holds a Master’s Degree in Education. Katie has spent time in Italy studying Early Childhood programs, runs local camps with science and nature based themes and has over twenty years of experience working with, and learning from, children.

$200.00/Week
